After Flipping the Sixth, What Comes Next?
159 Georgia Together is committed to effecting real change by electing progressive candidates in the November 2017 elections, the November 2018 midterms and beyond. To do this, we are focusing on crucial elements:
- registering progressive voters,
- educating voters,
- protecting the right to vote,
- fighting voter suppression efforts,
- fighting gerrymandering and ensuring fair census-taking and redistricting,
- supporting a pipeline of up-and-coming progressive candidates,
- canvassing for progressive candidates, and
- getting out the vote.
In the coming weeks, we will detail why each piece is key – and what opportunities exist to get involved, as we partner with established groups like the New Georgia Project Action Fund, ProGeorgia, and the Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda..
Many long-term and short-term volunteer opportunities exist across the state. Let’s get connected.
Many of you are focused on supporting the Ossoff campaign — and we are too — but what comes after we flip the Sixth? How do we harness that energy for municipal elections this November and for statewide races in 2018 and 2020? Let’s get started. #159MidtermProject #159BetheChange
