How to Get Started and Create the Change ....
By Marvin Lim, 159 Board Member
The November 2018 midterm elections are one of the best opportunities we have of effecting real, long-term change, by electing progressive candidates in flippable districts. And, you, 159ers, can help. In the coming weeks, 159 Georgia Together will be rolling out information and opportunities about how members can work toward this critical goal, including ways we can partner with established groups, like the New Georgia Project Action Fund, ProGeorgia, and the Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda.
It’s challenging to avoid being distracted by the changing national landscape, but remember, “all politics is local.” It is critical to count down the 18 months between the next election — particularly the November 2018 midterm elections — and focus on the many steps that must be taken each day/week/month to help effect progressive change.
Many of you, 159ers, are focused on flipping the Sixth by supporting the Ossoff campaign – and we are too, as individuals and voters. And after that, we hope to harness that energy for municipal elections this November, and statewide races in 2018 and 2020. Shall we get started? #159BetheChange #159MidtermProject
