House District 43
All statements, answers, and information found within the 159 Georgia Together voter guide were collected via an electronic survey. Due to the sheer volume of information collected and the number of candidates that submitted survey data, all of the information presented in the guide is verbatim per the input from the survey participants (including any spelling or grammatical errors).

TOP 3 PRIORITIES IF ELECTED
When elected I will prioritize access to healthcare for all Georgians because studies show that it is both humane and fiscally responsible. I will prioritize the funding of our public schools in the state budget so that our children are prepared for productive futures and companies will be attracted to our state’s educated workforce. I will prioritize Georgia’s role in leading the way to cybersecurity solutions that will not only protect users but not stifle innovation. Underlying each issue, I will question whether all will be treated equal no matter who you are or who you love.
DO YOU SUPPORT LEGISLATION THAT WOULD PREVENT BUSINESS OWNERS AND EMPLOYERS FROM DENYING SERVICES TO LGBTQ PEOPLE AND OTHERS BASED ON THEIR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS?
No. My daughter is part of the LGBTQ community. As a mom, I won't stop fighting for her to have the same rights as you or I, until the Georgia Legislature stops trying to pass laws that limit her rights.
DO YOU SUPPORT ENDING CASH BAIL FOR LOW-LEVEL OFFENSES?
Yes. Locking people up because they are too poor to pay is discriminatory, and something I will not support
DO YOU SUPPORT THE CREATION OF A NON-PARTISAN INDEPENDENT REDISTRICTING COMMISSION?
Yes. An independent redistricting commission would separate true geographic and community boundaries from partisan politics
WOULD YOU SUPPORT AN ENGLISH-ONLY CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT IF IT WERE ON THE BALLOT?
No. I was an immigrant raised in a home where multiple languages were spoken. I see language as a tool to build bridges rather than isolation.
DO YOU SUPPORT THE RIGHT OF WORKERS TO FORM A UNION AND BARGAIN COLLECTIVELY?
Yes. While employers seek to maximize output and profits, unions focus on worker protections and wages. In an ideal environment, these are complimentary objectives. Workers should always have the option to organize and collectively bargain to protect working conditions and pay.
DID YOU/DO YOU SUPPORT GUNS ON CAMPUS?
No. I have lobbied with Moms Demand Action against guns on campus. I am for gun sense legislation that will decrease gun violence. I stand with the many gun owners in my district who support laws that push for responsible gun ownership.
DO YOU SUPPORT ELECTRICITY RATE INCREASES TO COMPLETE TWO NUCLEAR REACTORS AT PLANT VOGTLE?
No. Citizens subsidizing a for a for-profit project from which they've received no benefit, has led to mismanagement of resources.
DO YOU SUPPORT CHANGING GEORGIA'S VOTING SYSTEM TO A VOTER-MARKED (PEN OR PENCIL) PAPER BALLOT WITH OPTICAL SCANNERS?
Yes. Our voting system should provide a way to recount and audit elections, which could be accomplished with hand marked paper ballots.
DO YOU SUPPORT THE EXPANSION OF EARLY VOTING?
Yes. I support measures that allow for expansion of voter participation. I oppose measures of voter suppression
DO YOU SUPPORT PUBLIC VOUCHERS BEING USED FOR PRIVATE AND/OR CHARTER SCHOOLS?
No. I will not support legislation that will take funding away from public schools
DO YOU SUPPORT MEDICAID EXPANSION OR ANOTHER GEORGIA-SPECIFIC PLAN TO EXTEND HEALTH INSURANCE TO LOW-INCOME GEORGIANS?
Yes. Our healthcare system is based on a model of crisis care. Closing the coverage gap will give more Georgians access to primary and preventive care. Not only is this the correct approach to improve patient outcomes, but it is also fiscally sensible.
WILL YOU SUPPORT POLICIES AND LEGISLATION THAT INCREASE ACCESS TO REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE, INCLUDING ABORTION, AND OPPOSE POLICIES AND LEGISLATION THAT LIMIT OR REDUCE ACCESS TO REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE, INCLUDING ABORTION?
Yes. I support access to non-judgmental healthcare, including a woman's right to safe care and reproductive choice
WOULD YOU SUPPORT EFFORTS TO STRENGTHEN SOCIAL SECURITY FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE RETIREES AND PUT THE PROGRAM ON A MORE STABLE FISCAL PATH?
Yes. Cuts in social security on the national level put added pressure on state budgets.
DO YOU SUPPORT A LIVABLE WAGE OF A MINIMUM OF $15 PER HOUR?
Yes. A living wage is defined as the minimum that a family can subsist on in a community, without governmental support. Incrementally increasing wages reduces the burden on businesses.
