Civic Engagement: Ways You Can Help

Take advantage of one of the following volunteer opportunities in October to register, protect, and/or otherwise engage voters.

This coming month – on September 24, to be exact – we celebrate National Voter Registration Day. With now both U.S. Senate seats up for grabs in Georgia, our efforts can make even more of a difference. So why not take advantage of one of the following volunteer opportunities this month to register/protect/engage voters ?

Running for, or thinking about running for, City Council, School Board, District Attorney, State House or State Senate? Not sure yet? Don’t know where to start? Want to be a campaign manager or volunteer for a campaign? Here are some resources to help you.

Tuesday, Oct. 9 is the voter registration deadline. And Tuesday, Nov. 6 - only four weeks later - is the election. Come volunteer with the organizations below doing critical voter registration – as well as GOTV/postcarding, voter ID assistance, and rides to the polls – in October and November.

National Voter Registration Day is a national holiday celebrating our democracy. On this day volunteers and organizations from all over the country will "hit the streets" in a single day of coordinated field, technology, and media efforts. It's also the last full month we have to register as many new voters as possible, before the Oct. 9 voter registration deadline in Georgia. It's getting down to the wire. Come volunteer with the organizations below doing critical voter registration – as well as canvassing and voter ID assistance – in September and October.

Common Cause Georgia, the ACLU of Georgia, Spread the Vote, Represent Georgia, and the Georgia Redistricting Alliance are touring the state, discussing: "general voting 101", voting system integrity, redistricting reform, election protection, and how you can be involved. Locations/dates below.
