#159CalltoAction: New Georgia Project Needs Applicants for Volunteer Instructors

New Georgia Project's Advocates for Change Institutes (ACI) seeks volunteer instructors with relevant experience, for a five-week program meant to increase organizing capacity and direct voter engagement throughout communities of color. #159CalltoAction #159CivicEngagement

The institutes are five weekly 90-minute workshops designed to provide participants with the background and tools needed to become engaged community members. By providing a baseline knowledge of how government works (i.e., local, state and federal) and demystifying politics, participants see the connection between voting, especially in local elections, and how their participation — or lack thereof — contributes to the issues they want to see changed.

Advocates for Change Institute programs are taking place throughout the year in Albany, Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Ellenwood and South DeKalb. The first training begins on Saturday, March 10.
