Volunteers will be trained to effectively communicate with lawmakers and government officials. Topics include: Explanation of the redistricting reform legislation (Christopher Bruce, ACLU of Georgia), insights about lobbying best practices (Perry Mitchell, experienced citizen-lobbyist), plans and expectations for the 2019 General Assembly session (State Sen. Elena Parent (SD 42) and State Rep. Becky Evans (HD 83), and a guide to the Capitol building, including the logistics of rope-line lobbying.
